Sparrows & Sombreros was founded in 2019 by the Montoya family in Tucson, Arizona — a place where desert culture, creativity, and community collide. What started as a small family art project has grown into a distinctive brand that blends Chicano roots, Southwestern spirit, and pop-culture nostalgia with humor and heart.

Our art celebrates everyday icons and reimagines them through a desert lens — from flying javelinas and desert florals to mash-ups featuring beloved film and TV characters in 90s Chicano fashion. Every piece tells a story of identity, imagination, and cultural pride.
